8th TSA Invitational Elite Championships

The 8th Elite Taekwon-Do Invitational Tournament was held on Saturday 26 March at the Mandeville Sport and Social Centre in Bez Valley/Kensington.



The tournament, hosted by the Magua Taekwon-Do Clubs, was attended by members of Taekwon-Do South Africa (ITF) and GTF-SA (GTF). The tournament held up to its reputation of tough, fair competition between all of the competitors.

The tournament was composed of the four aspects of competition: Sparring, Patterns, Power Destruction, and Special Technique Breaking. The various categories were well contested and made for some very impressive performances.

The day saw a fantastic standard, also highlighted areas to be worked on, some great heart and spirit were also displayed. All of the competitors made their instructors proud. The event ran smoothly with thanks to the hard work of the umpires, corner judges, assistants and those in charge of the food.
After the colour belt events were finished, the already tired black belts from helping all day, showed what commitment is and put on a great show of skill while competing with each other. This was also one of the preparation tournaments for the up-coming world championships next year in Canada.
